All weather pitch
The latest craze at the All Weather Pitch in Clogherhead is to hire it out by the hour for your child and their friends to play football. It costs only €20 for 1 hour and after the hour you can continue the party there on the pitch or go to the Community Hall where they can run around having great fun in secure, friendly and safe surroundings for only €30 per hour.
And then they just flake out with tiredness, happy but tired.

Laura Smits-Weldon, daughter of Leo and the late Mary Weldon Duleek, for the past 22 years has lived in the Netherlands with her husband, Peter. In 2014 Laura spent some time volunteering in a primary school in Kunsu, Ghana, West Africa. On her return Laura and Peter decided to raise money to fund a school bus which was badly needed, which is a great addition to the school.
The school was in a rundown condition and in a bad state of repair. Laura and Peter decided to set up a foundation and raise money to build a new school. In 2016 their foundation, 'Dare2Care', is officially registered in the Netherlands and is dedicated to building a primary school in a small village in Ghana. In September 2018f the first phase of the school opened.
There are currently 100 pupils attending the school. Laura and Peter are now busy fundraising for phase 2, which will consist of 4 classrooms and 4 toilets. There will be a 60's, 70's night fundraiser in Carranstown Lodge on Saturday 25th May at 9.00pm. Music by DJ Shane McGuinness. Admission €5. Raffle on the night. Enquiries to Ann 9823415.
