The place looks great with all the new window boxes and hanging baskets and thanks to all of you who are watering them regularly.

If you would like to "Adopt" a window box or hanging basket please let us know.

We have noticed that there are people out for their daily walk and are picking up litter on the way. That is just great, please continue to do so.

Great work was carried out by the group on the flower bed at the bottom of the Main Street, resulting in there being lots of Lavender Shrubs to take away if you would like any. The children are to be congratulated as they have been spotted "Picking Up" litter along the street. Well done to you all.

Highfield Solar back Duleek Bellewstown area facility

The Duleek, Bellewstown and District Community Facility Project has gotten support from renewable energy company Highfield Solar.

"We are delighted to support the community on this development and look forward to providing further support to other community projects in the locality in future. Duleek, Bellewstown and the surrounding areas will benefit for generations to come from a community facility of this kind" said Peter Kavanagh, Director of Highfield Solar Limited.

Highfield Solar is one of Irelands leading developers of renewable and clean-energy projects. They currently have over 500 MW of consented utility-scale ground mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) projects nationwide including Garballagh Lower Solar Farm, which is being developed within the townlands of Garballagh, Gillinstown and Thomastown (site is located west of the village of Duleek).

The Duleek, Bellewstown and District Community Facility started construction in early 2019 and phase one is due to be completed in 2020. The project aims to deliver a much needed community facility for Duleek, Bellewstown and the surrounding areas, catering for a wide range of sports, community and voluntary groups and amenities.

Fundraising for the facility commenced last year and the latest "Buy a Block" campaign ( encourages the community to support the facility by purchasing a block, upon which their family name (or other chosen text) would be engraved. These blocks will be incorporated into the finished building and will be on display in the local council offices until the facility is constructed.

The Facility development is reliant on financial support from local businesses and the community. "We are very grateful for the support we have received from Highfield Solar Ltd. Every donation brings us closer to opening the doors of this new facility and sharing our new facility with the community today and into the future" said Oliver Cudden Chairman of the Duleek, Bellewstown and District Community Facility Project.
