A True Legend passes away

The passing of John Flanagan RIP, Dunleer last week was marked in style with his wake held in Teach Nua, the headquarters of Scoraiocht Lannleire, at Barn Road, Dunleer.

The founder of Scoraiocht Lannleire and an Hon. President, John had a vision that saw him pursue the exposure and development of Irish music, song, dance and culture in Dunleer and further afield. Many have fond memories of attending Cross-road Ceilis organised by Scoraiocht around the area in the early days, Ballapousta and Philipstown spring to mind. History will be kind to John, a true legend in his own lifetime, and rightly so. The sincere sympathy of the Association, our Community and the Teach Raithneach Set Dancers are extended to John's wife Dolly, his son Sean, the extended Flanagan Family and all who are bereaved by his passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time for you. Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam dilis. Ni beidh a leitheid ann aris.
