Christmas Joy

Tommy and Teresa Dillon welcomed their 7th grandchild on Christmas Day. A new baby boy, Zack Thomas, born at 5.50 am on Christmas Morning, to their son Kieran and partner Caroline. Mother and baby doing well.

Bird Feeding Programme

The Bird Feeding Programme that takes place at a number of locations throughout the District is a popular as ever, especially with the birds, who seem to be ravenous these days.

Irish Dancing Classes resume

Irish Dancing Classes with The Farrelly School of Irish Dancing resume in Teach Raithneach after the Christmas break on Tuesday 8th January from 6 to 7.30 pm. Contact Grainne on 086 3707227 or Olive on 086 3502157 for further information. New members welcome at any time.

Operation Transformation National Walk Day

Meath Local Sports Partnership and Sport Ireland have linked up with the Operation Transformation Team to promote National Walk Day on Saturday 12th January. Organisers welcome all ages and abilities along on the day and would like to see families getting involved. The event is ideal for beginners to come out and give it a go. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Check out your Local Sports Partnership for information.

Set Dancing News

There is a Traditional Music session in Dorian's Pub, Mullin's Cross, Dunleer every Thursday night, starting at 9 pm. Dorian's is a nice homely place, and you will certainly enjoy the music and the craic. On next Thursday night (3rd January) the session will include Set Dancing. All Set Dancers are cordially invited to attend. Set Dancing Classes resume in Teach Raithneach after the Christmas break on Monday 14th January, and in Sandpit Hall on Thursday 17th January, both classes running from 8.30 to 10.30 pm. There is a spot of Sean n-Os thrown in for good measure. New Members are always welcome, and refreshments are served. The Broomfield and District Community Alert, Text Alert mobile number is 086 2193103. Report anything that concerns you, it could be of the utmost importance. Don't be afraid to make that call! Alternatively, you can call 999 or 112 and ask for the Gardai, or you can call your local Garda Station.

Blood Clinic Diary Date

The next Blood Donation Clinic is in Teach Raithneach, Starinagh, Collon on Thursday 31st January 2019 from 4.30 to 8 pm. Previous and New Donors most welcome.

TUS vacancy

A TUS vacancy will exist shortly with Broomfield and District Residents Association. The Work Programme involves Care-taking duties in and around Teach Raithneach, as well as the maintenance and up-keep of a number of amenities throughout the District. If you think you are eligible to participate in this Scheme, then please contact the Gerard on 087 2729154 for more information. Self referral forms are available. These allow you to self-refer to Meath Partnership, the body who have responsibility for implementing the TUS Scheme in this area.

Duleek Parish Sponsored Cycle

The fifth annual Duleek Parish Sponsored Cycle in aid of the Primary School in Duleek will take place on Sunday 6th of January at 10am. The cycle will start and finish at Duleek Primary School. The event organisers are looking for stewards from within the parish to assist with this event. All funds raised are fro the young boys and girls of our parish. Duleek Senior Citizens

Duleek Senior Citizens Christmas Party was held this year in the Valley Inn in Dunleer. everyone enjoyed a lovely meal and an evening of music and dance! Thank you to all who supported this year, it would be possible without each and every one of you! Happy New Year from all of the committee.

Duleek Women's Forum will return after Christmas on Tuesday 8th of January in the courthouse from 10:30am until 12 noon.

Chair Aerobics will re-open on Thursday 10th of January in Duleek Courthouse at 11:30am.

Operation Transformation

Operation Transformation's national walk is taking place on Saturday 12th of January at 10am in Duleek (meeting at the village green) all ages and abilities welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.

On New Year's day, Tuesday 1st January Mass will be at 12 noon. On Saturday, January 5th (The feast of Epiphany) Mass will be will be at 6 pm. On Sunday, January 6th Mass will at 10 am and 11.30 am. The Drogheda Male Voice choir will sing at the 11.30 am mass.

Valentines Ball on Behalf of ABACAS

The Abacus Valentines ball will take place on February 9th (2019). This will be the tenth annual ball. It will be held in the Westcourt hotel. There will be a drinks reception held in the Earth nightclub, followed by a sumptuous four-course meal. Tickets are €75 each and a table for ten will be seven hundred and fifty euro (€750). Gerry Kelly of L.M.F.M fame will be the M.C apart from the singing and dancing there will be many terrific prizes during the proceedings.
