Clothing collection in St Patrick's
Harestown school is having a used clothing collection on Saturday next, Febuary 8th. Parishoners can drop off bags to the school when they come to vote in the school, from 7.00a.m. to 10.00p.m.
So, as the politicians, metaphorically, take the shirts off our backs, we can, literally, voluntarily hand them over to a good cause.
Clothing accepted is: Adult and children's clothing, paired shoes, handbags and belts, curtains, bedding and towels.
Harestown NS enrolment
St. Patrick's NS Harestown is enroling pupils, starting Junior Infants in September 2020. Please contact the school office on 041-9822112 to request a form. Parents and children are invited to an open afternoon in the school on Thursday next, 6th February from 1pm to 4pm, to meet the Principal and take a look around
And, for those who were on the Roll Book, eh, few years ago, Patrick's NS Harestown is 50 years in its current location this year and are looking for old photos from Ballymakenny, Fieldstown and Harestown schools.
Please bring the photos to the school between 9am and 2.30pm (don't be late or there will be detention) any day so they can be scanned.
Photos will be displayed at a special celebration day, later this year.
Naomh Mairtin lights up
As part of RTE's Operation Transformation season, in conjunction with the GAA's "we are community"initiative, Naomh Mairtin will be lighting up it's walking track each Monday, from 7pm to 8.30, from January 13th to February 17th.
It's open to all in the community.
Personally, second to cycling, I think walking is way up there with the best exercise you can bestow on yourself and it's free. So, no excuses.
