Samaritans provide invaluable support

Group always on call to help those in need

Hubert Murphy

Christmas and the new year are not always joyous occasions for many and that's where the Samaritans step in.

Based in Drogheda, the local group took to the streets over the festive period to let people know they were available to talk - 24/7.

The Drogheda & North East Samaritans held a candlelit event on the steps of St. Peter's for three hours and Drogheda Museum lit up green to mark the occasion, to help remind people that they are not alone.

People were invited to bring a candle with them with the aim to bring some light to those who need it.

The group got some great support on the night from the local community.

Anyone can contact Samaritans any time for free from any phone on 116 123. This number is free to call.
