SOMEWHERE in a file I came across the name of John Brady from Mell. John Brady served in World War I, a gunner in the Royal Navy from what I can find out, but before he left for action he showed his bravery by risking his life to pull a woman from the river Boyne.
Any of the Brady clan from Mell still around? - I GOT the chance to see the Indigo Ar tists' exhibition in the Laurence Town Centre last week and some of the work is terrific. The best?, a tough one, but I richly admire Sally Downey's work. She has a fine image of the Boyne Bridge on display.
