The second running of the Greenhills 5k saw a win for Simon Ryan from Boyne AC in a time of 17.02, coming in ahead of the Drogheda and District trio of James Nolan, Pat O'Grady and Shane Larkin.

Nathan Anderson from Ardee was 5th and other good efforts came from Peter Browne (Miles for Abacas) in 8th, Shane Carroll, Ardee, in 9th and Martin Russell, Drogheda AC, coming in 10th.

Other Ardee runners, Paul Barnes and Leo Farrell also finished in the top 16 and Andrew Rogers of the Togher Runners was first of that group home in an impressive 21.32 in 19th place.

The youngest home was Liam McGreehan O'Grady in the under 16 category, clocking 21.43.

Sally Clarke from Boyne AC was the first woman home in 22.30, followed in by Dunleer's Nicola Courtney and Nuala Reilly and Elaine McGrath.

Over 500 took part in the event and the team from Integral were on hand to help with the warm ups.

Principal Ms Mulvihill thanked everyone for taking part while Mayor Frank Godfrey said it was a big success for the Parents Council who do such great work for the school.

Another highlight for the runners was the sight of the Samba Mamma's playing away on the roadside as the runners, walkers and buggies passed by.
