Book to help those during difficult time

Michael Dowling

We all feel a bit down from time to time and, when we do, it's important to know what will help us to feel better. The book "For my friend…in a difficult time" is a short, simple book that offers practical advice to people to help them when they are feeling stressed.

The book was written by Mornington based Fergus Grimes, who is a psychotherapist, counsellor and life coach and combines easy-to-read language with illustrations to help people to deal with difficult times in their lives.

It explains how problems in a person's life can lead to them feeling bad about themselves, and how to stop them from having those feelings. It includes an 8 step guide to help people feel better by recognising and accepting that there is a problem and talking to someone about it.

The book was launched in 2017 and was initially sold to raise much needed funds for SOSAD, the suicide prevention organisation in Ireland. Fergus Grimes specialises in helping people with relationship difficulties as well as addiction and anger management. He helps to raise self esteem and give people the tools to deal with the problems they face in their lives.

The book is available to buy online at Veritas Books, Amazon and Book Depository and locally at Jojo's on West St, Southgate newsagents, Mornington gift shop and the Augustinian.
