Voices of the Boyne unite in triumph

Hubert Murphy

They may be only a matter of months together, but Drogheda's Voices of the Boyne are set to be big - very big!

The all female group - numbering over 60 - gave a taste of what they can do in the Laurence Shopping Centre recently and they were stunning.

The brainchild of Louise Mahony, the group showed off a great confidence and with some starring solos thrown in, the range of voices makes the name very apt.

'Deck the Halls', 'When a Child is Born', to 'Walking in the Air' and so many other seasonal classics, the performance was faultless and slightly warmer than their 'debut' on the steps of St Peter's for the arrival of Santa before Christmas.

The coming months will see more engagements for this troupe and when you get a chance, pop along for a listen. Awesome.
