Plans for Dublin Beatles Festival are well underway

The Notebook

Newfield man Stephen Kennedy, the Director of the Dublin Beatles Festival, is well underway with plans for the 2018 event, taking place on Saturday, November 3rd at the Workman's Club in Dublin city centre.

The events on the day will include a two set show from the Scottish band Revolver. In the first set - to celebrate the 55th anniversary - they will play the exact same set of songs The Beatles played in Dublin in November 1963. And in their second set - they will play a wide selection of other songs from The Beatles.

There will also be a performance of Stephen's play When the Beatles Came to Dublin - and the hugely popular Beatles table quiz is back again.

Stephen's play, which takes place at 2pm, is a play as told from the perspective of Catherine Hansard - the mother of Glen Hansard. Catherine and some of her friends managed to break into the Adelphi Cinema on Middle Abbey Street and hide in the dressing room used by The Beatles.
