Modern love in festival final gig

An online public vote has chosen five acts to compete in the live final of the Firestone Battle of the Bands competition, part of Firestone Live's association with this year's Vantastival.

Modernlove., Exiles, Sonnets & Sisters, Oski Bravo, and JaXson have come out on top in the public vote and will proceed to the live final on Thursday 26th April.

The final will take place in Odd Mollies, Drogheda, where the bands will perform for a judging panel comprising Today FM producer and DJ Ed Smith, Today FM Head of Sound Gavin Blake, Lecturer in Dun Laoghaire eFurther Education Institute John McFadden, and Vantastival Director Benny Taaffe.

The overall winner will receive a prize package including a two track recording session at Herbert Place Studios and €1,800 worth of equipment from the Musicmaker store in Dublin, and will headline the Firestone Music Station stage at this year's Vantastival.

Vantastival is delighted to be involved with Firestone Live 2018, which will give up-and-coming artists the opportunity to perform at major festivals across Europe this summer.

The Firestone Music Station is an intimate experience that brings together fans and passionate musicians. Firestone aims to encourage and support emerging music talent in Ireland with the Battle of the Bands competition, which is now in its second year. 12 acts shortlisted by Firestone took part in the online phase of the competition and all 12 will feature on the Firestone Stage at this year's Vantastival. The stage will feature 25 acts in total over the festival weekend.
