Millmount will be a rocking place for the Fleadh

Drogheda Museum in association with Good Thyme Thursdays are very excited to announce Music at the Tower - five evenings of music taking place from Monday to Friday during the week of the Fleadh (12th-16th August).

Each of these evenings will take place in the stunning setting of the Tower at Millmount, with breathtaking views of Drogheda and amazing acoustics. They have some very special acts playing each night with some of the finest performers from the region taking part.

On Monday evening, Terry McHugh will be launching his new album and will provide his signature mix of classical guitar, singing, poetry and storytelling.

On Tuesday Tom Blake will no doubt wow the crowd with his unique energy and signature style.

On Wednesday they'll have the brilliant FAA Side's acoustic sounds - top quality music known all across the North East.

Thursday sees the return of singer-songwriter Sean Mathews after an absence from the local scene with his debut Album "Dreaming is Allowed" - a blend of different instruments and industrial and traditional folk styles which takes on some subjects which cut deep into the fabric of society.

Then to finish off the weeks events they have a fantastic line up on Friday evening featuring: six-string drum - a musical project working in theatre, dance and soundtrack work with some lush soundscapes and intense grooves, also featured for Friday evening is Róisín Ward Morrow - an accomplished fiddle player from Co. Louth. Róisín has performed nationally and internationally and has featured on RTE, and will launch her debut album "By the Light of the Moon" during the Fleadh week breathing new life into ancient melodies and developing her own haunting compositions, the final act featured on Friday is Uisneach - a traditional music duo with layers of trad, popular and folk music who played with great energy in last years Fleadh and featured on TG4.
