Highlanes Gallery to host two great events in January

Dust away any thoughts of hibernation this January as Highlanes Gallery presents two Evenings of Words & Song with Warm Winter Potions to coincide with the current exhibition Crossing Lines.

Dissenting Voices (1) will take place on Tuesday 15th January, from 7.30pm-9.00pm with Chicago-based art historian, Margaret MacNamidhe presenting a gallery talk 'F.E. McWilliam, Twentieth-Century Sculpture, and the Women of Belfast' with a Winter Reception, and followed by the unaccompanied four-part harmony group - Landless, who will perform songs of love, death and lamentation.

The following week, on Tuesday 22nd January from 7.30pm-9.00pm, Dissenting Voices (2) will see art historian Brenda Moore-McCann present a gallery talk 'Brian O'Doherty: Art. Politics and the Role of the Dissenter' followed by a Winter Reception, and traditional Irish song from Noelle Bowe and Niall Wall who will sing powerful songs of dissent, considering political, labour and agrarian activism.
