Get your name in to volunteer for the 2019 Fleadh Cheoil

August 2018 might seem like a distant memory but we are all going to be able to relive the Fleadh in a number of ways over the coming weeks.

With 'The Fleadh' featuring on RTE One at 8.30pm over the next 6 Fridays we can all remember and relive the buzz and excitement that Drogheda experienced over those 'fleadhtastic' 8 days last year.

No doubt there will be glimpses of the fantastic volunteers who were everywhere in the town. Hundreds of volunteers, managed by Louth Volunteer Centre, turned out to make sure the Fleadh was a real success and ensure visitors and locals alike had a good time.

Gráinne Berrill, Manager of Louth Volunteer Centre who are once again looking after the Fleadh Volunteer Programme said "Fleadh 2018 was a huge success and we know Fleadh 2019 is going to be even bigger and better. Last year's volunteers were amazing and did a phenomenal job. Such a good job that we are expanding the volunteer programme and will need even more people to get involved in 2019". Anyone over the age of 15 can volunteer, the minimum commitment is just one shift and there are a wide variety of volunteer roles available throughout the week of the Fleadh.

The Highlanes Gallery are also giving a 'Taste of the Fleadh' with their Two Chairs series of concerts which have proven to be hugely successful with the first two events selling out. The last concert, on 10th April, will feature Tara Breen and Padraig Rynne return to Drogheda after an unforgettable performance during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018.

Louth Volunteer Centre are teaming up with The Highlanes to offer the chance to win tickets to the final Two Chairs concert. Anyone who puts themselves forward to help out at Fleadh 2019 will be entered into a draw for two tickets to this event in the Highlanes. To apply to volunteer at the Fleadh go to www.volunteerlouth.ie/fleadh, or complete a paper form - available in Louth Volunteer Centre's office on Bolton Street, Drogheda library or the Tholsel. Volunteer applications received before Monday 8th April will be included in the draw and winners will be notified on the 9th April. For more information contact Louth Volunteer Centre at 041 9809008 or emailing fleadh@volunteerlouth.ie.
