Franklin Dee back for one night only at the d Hotel
A special 60s revival show takes place in The D Hotel, Drogheda on Saturday 23 March at 8pm, with guest DJ Franklin Dee spinning all the hits from that decade!
'I am delighted with this event and am looking forward to it immensely!' said Franklin Dee, aka Mayor Frank Godfrey. 'I am now 50 years in the DJ business and want to celebrate it! This show is on One Night Only!'
In his heyday, Frank introduced Roy Orbison and the Tremeloes playing The Palm Court in The White Horse Hotel (now the Westcourt), and he was Eurovision winning Johnny Logan's first manager.
'It will be a night of nostalgia and I particularly want to invite those who remember the 60s and attended the 'record hops' in Bothar Brugha, St Peter's church hall, The Abbey Ballroom, St Mary's hall, The Ashling ballroom and Yellowbatter Boys Club,' said Franklin who played before all the top showbands of the day. He plans to play the Rolling Stones, the Monkeys, Roy Orbison, Dave Clarke 5, The Beatles and so many more.
Manager of the D Hotel, Rory McNulty is also looking forward to the night, and looks forward to hearing memories of dancing days!
All are welcome and there is no admission charge. A raffle featuring fantastic prizes will be held, with proceeds supporting the Drogheda Musicians Memorial Fund. Finger food on the night.
