Plenty of action in cups and league

OVER the weekend, plenty of goals were scored in league and cup ties. In the AOH Cup Q-Final, Kinsale A booked their place in the semi finals as they defeated Kilreen Celtic 3-0. There was also some fourth round action in the AOH Cup. Springfield A took on Wilton Utd A and Wilton advanced onto the next round after winning 4-0.

In the third round if the County Cup, Bweeng's Justin McCarthy and Rylane's Matty O'Learyscored for their teams as the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes. In extra time, Rylane's Paul O'Rourke got the winner and Rylane advance into the next round.

In the City Challenge Cup Quarter Final, Casement Celtic got the better of Central Rovers in a thrilling match that finished 3-2 to Casement. In the third round of the Corinthians Cup, UCC A hammered Glen Celtic 71, while Brooklodge also had an impressive 6-3 victory against Leeview Ath.

In the Premier League, A Keith Holden penalty and a goal from Anthony O Donoghue secured victory for Macroom over the weekend against Park Utd, while Blarney St Ath comfortably eased passed Knockavilla in a 4-0 win. However, Blarney's win wasn't the biggest victory over the weekend, Coachford won 6-0 against Gratten Utd with goals from Alan Malloy and Steven Murrey, who got two on the day. Leeside also beat Ballyvolane 6-2.

In the Premier A League, Blackstone Rovers lost to Castleview 2-1 and Bohemians lost to Pearse Celtic 4-2. Glenthoran Celtic travelled to Village Utd and, won 3-1 and Killumney did just enough to defeat Leeds 3-2.

In the AUL 1, Postal Celtic made their trip to Buttevant worth there while by beating the home side 2-1.

Shandon Celtic also had an important 1-0 victory over Park Utd B, while Glen Celtic defeated St John Boscos 3-2. In the AUL 1A, Douglas Hall produces a strong performance as they beat Greenmount Rangers 5-1. Dunbar Celtic went head to head with Richmond but 90 minutes couldn't separate the teams as the match ended 2-2.

In the AUL 2, Inter City Celtic put six past Kinsale B as they won 6-1. Innishvilla also scored six when they defeated City Wanderers 6-2. In the AUL 2A, Millstreet recorded a well-deserved 4-0 away win against Coachford Millstreet's goals came from Tadhg Collins, Michael Murphy, Chris Keary and John Cullinane. Crescent Celtic went up against Killowen in an intense game that finished 5-2 to Crescent Celtic. In the AUL 2B, Castle Celtic ended up short against Corkbeg in a close encounter that finished 32 to Corkbeg. Glanworth Utd was also in action against Watergrasshill in a match that Watergrasshill won 3-1.

In the AUL 3A, Kanturk travelled to face Lakewood and Kanturk held them to a 1-1 draw. Buttevant defeated Hillington 1-0 while Strand Utd defeated Ballincollig 1-0. Ballinhassig also travelled to Gratten Utd and the away side won 6-1.
