Kilshannig rally to overcome Millstreet

A blistering finish allowed Kilshannig get the better of Millstreet in the Rebel Og North Cork MAFL semi final played in Millstreet.
On doing so, the victors response was defiant and efficient on overcoming a five point interval deficit. At times, Millstreet held the greater share of possession but lacked the penetration to make inroads in attack.
The hosts had dictated much of the opening half, prompted by the efforts of Shane Hickey, Oisín Murphy, Cathal Crowley and Darren Kiely. With Crowley obilging with points in addition to a Danny Buckley goal, Millstreet surged ahead only for Kilshannig to register a goal from Dylan O'Callaghan to cut the leeway 1-8 to 1-3 at the break.
Favoured by the breeze, Kilshannig came more into the picture, greatly encouraged by Eoin Curtin, Brian Guerin, Diarmuid O'Sullivan Alan O'Connell and Killian Murphy. The outstanding O'Callaghan netted his second goal coupled with neatly struck points to O'Sullivan and Twomey nudged Kilshannig ahead.
Though Crowley answered with a Millstreet pointed free, the destination of the spoils were rubber-stamped on Twomey feeding Conor Murphy for the clinching score.
