Unleash the child you once were
WHY, as a child, did you think that you could have it all and now, through the eyes of an adult, can only see all the reasons why it won't work or why it's not possible?
Can you recall when you were a child all the things you dreamt of being and doing? Think about it, now, perhaps you thought about being a dentist, doctor, fireman or garda, or any other occupation or dream your mind conceived of. The possibilities were endless.
You believed that anything was possible; there were no self doubts, no judgement; just 'when I'….
What about now? Do you still believe that you can be, do and have more?
If not, why not? What changed?
Why as a child did you think that you could have it all and now through the eyes of an adult can only see all the reasons why it won't work or why it's not possible?
The answer lies within our beliefs. As we journey through life from childhood to adulthood many of our beliefs can change and not always for the better. Sadly we begin to buy into other people's opinions and beliefs about life and about ourselves.
How many times did you hear people say that certain things that you believed possible aren't possible or that you aren't good enough, smart enough, tall enough, fast enough etc.?
Maybe you didn't give it too much thought initially but the more you grew as a person the more experiences you encountered and made mistakes and failed.
The more mistakes you made and witness others make the more you surrendered your beliefs of what was once possible.
You got scared, stifled by self doubt and uncertainty and as a result opted for the safer mindset of why things aren't possible for you.
The truth is that you are not your beliefs. By continuing to let your past define who you are you disconnect from the person you really are.
Realize your beliefs shape your life, they direct you but you can at any moment in time refute any belief that is holding you back and replace it with a new more empowering one.
Otherwise, if you continue to live your life through old worn out self- sabotaging beliefs and thoughts life will continue to be difficult and unfulfilling for you. As a result you may never make the right choices or take the necessary action towards living a more enriching life.
Start today by visualising all that you desire - engage all of your senses. Imagine not just the visual images, but also the sounds, smells, textures and tastes of all that you wish to experience.
How you feel about what you imagine has a very powerful influence on the success of your outcomes.
Fully immerse yourself within the emotions and feel as if you have already achieved all that you desire.
Spending 5-10 minutes upon waking and before drifting off to sleep would be an ideal time to do this each day. Believe it or not - magic happens when you imagine and believe daily!
Remember all things are possible to those who believe in the possible.
