Millstreet Vintage Club joined up with CART Carrigamina to host a fund raising tractor run that proved a resounding success.
Supporting Carriganima Area Rural Transport (CART) brilliant autumn sunshine welcomed 104 tractors and their crews for a scenic run over the famous Mullaghanish route and returning to Carriganima Pub. Community spirit is alive and well in Carriganima in their endeavours to provide their own local rural transport, putting on a bus to take people to places where no other transport is available for shopping and other appointments.
“For more than 19 months, the bus was parked owing to Covid restrictions; thankfully it’s now up and running. Thanks to everybody involved, particularly to those who help to support the fundraising such as Millstreet Vintage Club and our voluntary drivers”, said spokesperson Cáit Ring.
Clerk of the course Danny Lane thanked the hardworking marshals for keeping the event running smoothly, as did Seanie Kelleher and Noel Kelleher on bike marshal duty, plus Mick Duggan and his Co-Pilot Willie Fitzgerald for leading the Tractors out on the Road.
Adding to the success of the staging were sponsors Christy Ring Tractor Garage, the Pub in Carriganima, for the catering and hospitality, and Peter Lane for the entertainment.
