Special cinema night in Clondrohid

SSE Airtricity on Friday hosted a solar powered outdoor cinema event at Clondrohid Community Recreational Facilities County Cork to celebrate a new video series featuring a selection of local groups.

The main film on the night was The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman.

The evening was the official launch of 'Supporting Community Across Ireland', a short series of videos which features Scoil Abán Naofa Ballyvourney, Clondrohid Community Recreational Facilities and Comhalthas Cosanta Chúil Aoda Swimming Pool, Cúil Aodha.

As part of the SSE Airtricity Community Fund, these three groups have received in excess of a combined €201,000, allowing them to develop the work they're doing in their community whilst also improving their energy and environmental footprint.

Through investment received from the fund, Scoil Aban Naofa have invested over €77,000 in new white boards and BER heating controls for the school, as well as lighting, doors and windows for the local hall used by the school.

Clondrohid Community Recreational Facilities has invested over €60,000 for floodlighting pitches and running tracks through the Community Fund.

Comhlathas Cosanta Chúil Aoda Outdoor Swimming Pool has also received over €64,000 to date which has been reinvested in upgrading the pools facilities.
