Reunion for former Borden workers
THE American-owned Borden Powder Milk Packaging plant, which situated in the Dairygold complex, closed its doors in June 1998 after serving Mallow town with solid full and part-time employment for well over 37 years.
In recent times it was planned to organise a reunion of all the employees, campaigners and regulars but due to unforseen circumstances this was cancelled.
It is now hoped to have such a reunion after 16 years since its closure with operations being transferred to mainland Europe.
Former employees of Bordens, which is presently being constructed in to a multi-million euro milk drying plant, who may be interested in such a night out can contact either 086 8505684 or email ecosg@indigo,ie where more details will be available.
