LONG awaited public toilets are to be provided in Mallow town.

Layout drawings for the toilets at St James Avenue are now available to inspect at the town hall.

The announcement that toilets will be built at St James Ave prompted local Cllr Noel O'Connor to joke that it should be renamed 'flushing avenue.'

Meanwhile, bad weather conditions has caused delays with roadworks Mallow town.

Last week's town council meeting assurances were given that works at Shortcastle will now be completed in January.

The outstanding sections at ' The Willows' and in Sandfield will be completed before Christmas.
