Mountaineer Denis needs a leg up to tackle Everest

Freemount mountaineer Denis O'Brien who will leave Ireland for Tibet to attempt his assault on Mount Everest on April 4 has issued and appeal for funding.

Heretofore, the North Cork climber has relied on his own resources to finance his mountain climbing in Europe and elsewhere but the costs are so great for an attempt on Mount Everest that he is forced to look for sponsorship.

It is 11 years since a Cork person has summitted Mount Everest and Denis hopes to make it to the top of the world when he takes on the most daunting climb of his mountaineering career next May.

"The costs associated with an Everest climb are huge and too much to bear from my own resources, and that is why I am appealing for finance to defray the expense involved," said Denis.

If there is anybody out there who can offer financial support to Denis he would be delighted to hear from you.

To this end a search - gofundme Denis O'Brien has been set up, or you may contact Denis direct on 087-2709879 or by post Denis O'Brien, Ballinla, Freemount, Charleville, Co. Cork, P56TP66.
