Life skills initiative in Fermoy

Aware, the national group that offers help and support to those with depression and bipolar disorder, will bring its Life Skills Group Programme to Fermoy in September.

The initiative, which will run for nine hours over the course of six-weeks, will teach attendees how to better recognise and manage unhelpful thoughts, learn new ways of thinking and begin the journey to a healthier and more confident life.

The organisations, director of services, Brid O'Meara, said the programme would "improve people's ability to cope with the cards that life can deal them on a daily basis."

"We encourage anyone who would like to understand why they sometimes feel anxious or stressed to register and start their own personal journey to a healthier and more confident life," she said.

The programme will kick off at 7.15pm on Wednesday, September, 20 at the Fermoy Youth Centre on Ashe Quay.

Online registration is now open to anyone over 18 and immediate booking is advised as places are limited and will fill up quickly
