Last week's fashion show in Boherbue proved that there is no need to venture outside of the locality to source that unique and special outfit for any occasion.

The full house event was organised as a fundraiser for the upkeep of the parish hall which is used extensively all year round for various classes, events and functions.

"A big thank you to all the shops who participated and ensured that the night was a tremendous success," said Marie Casey.

Ealu, Lady Lydia and Jo's Boutique from Kanturk; O'Shea's Fashions, Linehan's Fashions and Bespoke Head Pieces from Newmarket;Divas & Dudes and Jackie Reidy Fashions, Castleisland; Mac Bees & Scarlett, Killarney and 0 Fashions, Millstreet all contributed to a fantastic evening of glitz and glamour, while showcasing brand new exciting looks for spring and summer.

Compères Mary O'Keeffe and Rose Murphy kept the fast paced show running smoothly throughout the evening with their creative descriptions of the clothing and light hearted banter with the audience.

Organisers paid tribute to Jackie Murphy of  Glamour & Beauty for her help, and added a huge thanks to everyone who modelled at the event, in addition they gave a mention to Pat Casey, Roger Casey and Alan Lynch for constructing the Catwalk.

Tina Enright was thanked for preparing the programmes as were committee members Gertie Casey, Bridget Ann Fitzgerald, Margaret Herlihy, Teresa Cashman, Ned Vaughan and Teresa Hickey for helping to organise the show.

Marie Casey further thanked Eileen Daly for co-ordinating all the shops that provided the clothing and the sponsors who donated spot prizes for the raffle.

"Many thanks to Ann's Kitchen and Ingredient Solutions for sponsoring the cheese and  wine reception, and to Donal Casey Jnr. and Aidan Linehan who looked after the music.  A great night was had by all and we thank everyone for supporting the event," Marie added.
