Light-footed Aubane Social Club Chairman John F Kelleher will step it out in the Strictly spectacular in Bandon this weekend.

This is the biggest fundraiser to date by the Friends of Bandon Community Hospital (FOBCH) who have been fundraising tirelessly to raise €240,000 to build a state-of-the-art day-room for the benefit of residents and their families

John Kelleher and his dance partner Margaret O'Brien, Bandon, takes on Strictly Come Dancing this Friday and Saturday and on Friday, December 8 in Bandon Pavilion in a series of three shows of 500 people each show.

The three shows promise to be full of glitz, glamour and entertainment, where 30 local volunteers will engage in a battle of sequins, shimmies and sparkles to see who will be crowned Strictly champions 2017.

Meanwhile, a diverse programme of activity is promised by Aubane Social Club over the coming weeks in Aubane Community Centre. The weekly set dancing operates on Monday night.

The Annual Community Mass and party takes place in Aubane Community Centre on Thursday, December 1 at 8pm. Presentation of awards from the Aubane Social Club will be made to All Ireland winners Darragh Twomey (music) and Megan Lehane (Boxing).

That's followed by the weekly dancing at a pre Christmas Party Night on Monday, December 18. The Annual Mountain Climb takes place on Christmas Morning on Friday, December 25 at 10.30 am.

Rounding off a hectic programme is Around the Fireside in Aubane Community Centre on Thursday, December 28 at 8pm.

Civic reception for Marian Players group

The council wishes to send out a written invitation to the attendees. So if any members, past or present, feel they could be available at midday on Wednesday December 6, they are asked to text Val Moynihan at 087-2315310 or email him at 'moynihan.val@gmail.com.
