'Foul smell' is a mystery in Macroom
While the entire Rural Regeneration and Development Fund is €220 million it "may" be worth the time to apply for funding for the Briery Gap regeneration work, which has a shortfall of €1.5 million.
At the Blarney Macroom municipal district meeting, Senior Executive Officer Tom Molloy told councillors that the Rural Regeneration Fund will cover Macroom and towns in the region and they are looking for an expression of interest from applicants on proposed projects.
"For example, the Briery Gap could put forward an application on this," he said. He said the aim of the fund is directed at "long term objectives" in a region.
The closing date for an expression of interest has been set at the end of August.
