First acts lined up for Marquee 2010
FORMER X-Factor finalists JLS and country legend Kenny Rogers have been unveiled as the first two acts announced to play next years Live at the Marquee music festival in Cork.
A host of further top Irish and international acts are set to be announced over the coming weeks and months for the festival, which will return to Cork for the sixth year running next June.
Now firmly established as one of the premier events of its kind in Europe, Live at the Marquee has already played host to acts including Elton John, Rod Stewart, The Who, Christy Moore and Bob Dylan.
With a 5,000 capacity the distinctive red and blue marquee attracts more than 100,000 visitors to Cork for the three-week duration of the festival, generating millions of euro for the local economy.
Arguably one of the most successful X-Factor acts of all time, JLS will kick off Marquee 2010 on Thursday, June 17.
Having topped the charts with their debut single Beat Again, the English foursome released their eagerly anticipated second single Everybody In Love last Sunday to coincide with their much hyped return to the X-Factor stage.
Tickets for the JLS gig go on sale this coming Friday at 9am priced at €33.60.
At the other end of the musical spectrum Kenny Rogers is a true icon of the country music genre enjoying a career spanning more than five decades.
The Houston born singer's sweetly raspy vocals have endeared him to fans of all ages across the globe.
He has recorded more than 40 top-ten selling singles including The Gambler, Lady, Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town, Islands in the Stream and We've Got Tonight.
Tickets for Kenny Rogers are now on sale at Ticketmaster outlets priced at €65.70.
