'Blatant refusal' earns driver jail time

At Mallow District Court, Kanturk based garda Eoin Sheehan told how he arrested Mark O'Sullivan on May 7, 2010 as his driving was erratic. Later, at the Garda station, Mr O'Sullivan refused to give a blood sample and told Garda Sheehan 'f*** you'.

However, Mr O'Sullivan (23) of 102 Ardmore Avenue, Knocknaheeny pleaded guilty to the charge of drink driving. "This was a blatant refusal," said judge Pattwell before sentencing him.

His previous convictions ranged from public order to motoring offences, arson to drugs.
