The village of Ballyhea in North Cork is not a large place but when it comes to their St Patrick’s Day Parade they do surely punch above their weight.

Thus it was at 11am on Friday morning when the entire village – and then some – came out for the parade, either as participants or spectators.

All the local clubs rowed in, as well as social clubs, local businesses and a few of Ballyhea’s more colourful citizens made for a colourful occasion where everybody knew everybody else. That truly made St Patrick’s Day ‘our day’ in Ballyhea.
