Tractor run in memory of late vet will support MND

Sheila Fitzgerald

The memory of the late John Gayer will be honoured in Buttevant on Sunday, September 29 when his family and friends host a tractor run in aid of Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA).

John worked as a vet in Buttevant and surrounding areas for a number of years before relocating to live and work in Claremorris Co. Mayo.

In January 2018, at the age of 55, he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and sadly passed away last month. All types of tractors and their owners are welcome to participate in the event. Registration is from 10.30am at the Black Rose (Crossroads Bar), Buttevant, with the run commencing at 11.45am.

The planned route is through Buttevant to Ballyclough, and returning to the Black Rose. The fee for each tractor is €20. Check out the Buttevant Tractor Run Facebook page for more details and where people can also donate.

Further information can be obtained from Danny Broe on 086-8306374, Maria Gayer O'Connor, 086-8334666, and Bridie Cronin, 086-1040362. Everybody is welcome to go along and support this worthy cause.
