Senior citizens have a ball at Christmas party

MALLOW Senior Citizens flocked to Mallow Social Services last Monday night for their annual Christmas party.

A strong Social Services team were on hand to cater for the guests list, which was smaller in figures from previous years.

Mass was celebrated at 7.30pm before all were seated for tea's coffees cake, sandwiches, hot snacks and drinks served by Services personnel.

The entertainment for the evening was provided by Paddy Sheehan and music legend David Heaney made a guest performance on his accordian.

The cutting of the cake was performed by one of the Services long term members, Mary Guinea, who is now in her 90s and who was ably assisted by Fr. Moore.

A raffle for wines, chocolates and biscuits also took place during the night.

Congratulations to all staff who give so much of their time to our senior citizens.
