Sean nos class act


FLOWER & GARDEN CLUB: Ballincollig Flower & Garden Club will hold its spring meeting Monday 14th April at 8 p.m. in Oriel House at 7.30 p.m. A complimentary flower arranging class is available. Also, there is a horticulture display and raffle. All welcome.


The long awaited opening of the Ballincollig Regional Park trail on the regional park took place on April 5th at 11 a.m. County Mayor, Noel O'Connor launched this event.

The trail features a wonderful mix of parkland, riverside and woodland terrain within 130 acres of the former gunpowder mills.


Easter eggs hunt at the Irish Guide Dogs, Model Farm Rd., Cork on Monday 21st April from 12 noon to 2 p.m. €5 per child. Contact Anne 1850 506300.


Last Monday night's dancing began with the Moycullen set from Co. Galway. This was new for some dancers and all four figures of the set were taught in the first hour of the class. The Corofin Plain set from Co Clare was revised and the final dance of the night was the Cashel set. Only one more class left before our summer céilí on Monday, April 28th. This class will be devoted to revising sets and céilí dances learned during the year. Dancing as usual next Monday night, 8.45 to 11pm in Ballincollig GAA Pavilion. Bí linn agus bain taitneamh as.

Next Tuesday night, April 15th brings to a close a very successful season of Sean Nós dancing classes at The White Horse. The final class happens as usual 7.30 - 9.30pm followed in the bar by a relaxed music session with song, story, sets agus b'fhéidir steip nó dhó de'n tSean Nós. The group for the night will be titled Pro Bono and the only terms and conditions attached are the three rules of the Sean Nós dancing class:- Rule 1 - we will have fun; 2 - we will have lots of fun; 3 - we will have lots and lots of fun. Summer Céilí

End of year céilí will be held on Monday night, April 28th at 9pm in Gaelscoil Uí Ríordáin. Please note venue. Ceol beo le Jerry McCarthy agus Liam Healy. The usual cupán tae will be served. A great night is promised so we are looking forward to seeing you all there. Beidh fáilte is fiche roimh ghach duine.
