Mitchelstown GAA organised a fundraiser for Special Friends last weekend.

The event was a 'sprint the distance' from Mitchelstown GAA Club Grounds to Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Clubmen Alan O'Meara and Karl Sweeney organised the event as they spotted that the organisation had lost a number of fundraising avenues due to the Coronavirus COVID-19.

The aim to reach the magic figure of €10,000 can still be achieved.

The response to date surpassed all expectations with €9,300 already collected by the time of going to print.

The club and Special Friends are indebted to the people of Mitchelstown and surrounding areas, and indeed people from further afield who donated through the GoFundMe page, and they sincerely thank each and everyone for the kind donations.
