Community news: Kanturk Calling

Twohig's SuperValu are set to continue their sponsorship of Kanturk GAA Club.

MD Michael Twohig said the company is proud to continue as the main club sponsor. He praised the club for proudly carrying the Twohig brand in Croke Park when they won the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Final earlier this year.

Kanturk GAA Club chairman Tom O'Callaghan thanked the Twohig family for their invaluable support, without which the club would find it difficult to expand.

Kanturk GAA supporters who shop at Twohig's are, in turn, supporting the club, players and club members, and also those directly employed by the company.

Kanturk GAA night at the dogs

All involved with Kanturk GAA Club are gearing up for a fundraising night at the dogs at Curraheen Park on Saturday, October 27th.

The Club has recently carried out a major draining and upgrading of their playing pitch surface at a cost of €92,000. A grant from the Sports Capital Programme contributed €67,500.

Plans for the upgrading of the Freemount Road training grounds are also in the pipeline which will include new lighting, netting and surface improvement.

All club supporters are asked to purchase a single ticket for €10 or a family ticket for €20. It promises to be a great end of year celebration for players and supporters to mark winning the All Ireland Club Intermediate Hurling Championship.
