Charleville Lions show some roaring generosity to local Tidy Towns group

The president of Charleville Lions Club, Michael Curtin, presented a cheque for €2,000 to Jerh O'Rahilly of Charleville Tidy Towns Committee recently at the Charleville Park Hotel. 

The members of the Lions Club raised the money through their treditional annual post-Christmas Run on St. Stephen's Day in Charleville.

Tidy Towns committee member Ian Doyle thanked the Lions Club for their gesture of support and said the money would be used to finance their projects for the coming year.

He also thanked the Lions Club members for enriching the lives of local people through their work for the various charities in the town and district. 

Mr Doyle welcomed District Governor of the Lions Club Teresa Dineen in the southern region who was present in Charleville for the Lions Club meeting that evening.  

The Lions Club members present were Jim Harmon, Sylvester Barrett, Sean Johnson and Tim O'Mullane, while the Tidy Towns members along with Ian Doyle were John McMahon and Joe Fox.
