Juvenile GAA

On Tuesday, January 24, the Juvenile Club held its first meeting of the New Year which was very well attended. The main focus of the meeting was to look at the Coaching practices in the club and how we could improve in this area. The coaching officer Colum Buckley outlined his vision for the club and the direction we should be going. He also took those gathered through the Coaching plan that was adopted by the club and how the club would implement this right throughout the year. We also looked at the various courses available to the coaches so that the skills set of coaches can continue to grow and develop. This follows on from the Child protection workshop that the club held last November.

The coaching officer along with other Juvenile club representatives will also attend a meeting hosted by the Rebel Og North GDA Pat Spratt in Coláiste Treasa next Tuesday night. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Patt Spratt for all his hard work and for the support he offered the club in the past and which will undoubtedly continue into the future.

Some groups have returned to training already and other players will be called in over the coming weeks as the club gears up for the year of activity that lies ahead. Over the coming weeks there will be ample opportunity for parents to register their son and it is very important that this is done as soon as possible by parents so that their sons are eligible to play in any upcoming matches.
