Freemount: 45 Drive - The weekly 45 Drive was well attended on Sunday night last. The following is a list of the lucky winners: First prize went to: John and Joan Dillane, Milford.
Ladies prize was won by: Margaret and Teresa O'Regan, Kilmeedy. Gents prize went to : Timmie Curtin Freemount and Con O'Neill, Newmarket. The mixed prize was won by:- John and Kathleen Twomey, Meelin. The Table Prize was won by; Ben and P.J. O'Sullivan, Freemount. Around the Fireside

St Michael's Church
Mass on Sunday Morning at 10.30am as usual. Mass and Holy Hour on Monday night at 7pm. Mass on Tuesday Morning at 9.30am.
Mass and all devotions at St. Michael's Church in Freemount are now available on the internet. The web address is http://www.myipstream.com/freemount.html. This will be especially welcome for all people who are housebound or away from home. Please pass the details onto your friends.
St. Michael's Room is now available to parents who would like to bring young children to Sunday Mass. This room is located behind The Altar
This year Mass will be celebrated in the cemeteries of the parish as follows: Thursday June 13th Deliga at 8pm. Friday June 14th Ballinakill at 8pm. Tuesday June 18th Knawhill at 8pm.
The Last Thursday Club of the season will be held in Cois Abhainn on this Thursday 6th of June at 1:30pm. Everyone welcome

Freemount Tidy Towns Committee would very much appreciate your help to get our village and amenity areas cleaned up for the Summer .We have also entered the Anti litter challenge run by Cork Co. Council This competition runs until the end of June. We will be judged in all areas between the 50km. Speed limit signs to which the public have access including the housing estates. We are asking everybody in the community to keep an eye out for any litter even cigarette butts and help keep Freemount a litter free area.
The death of Jack Murphy . Commons, Freemount and late of Glounicommane, took place at his home on Monday May 27th.after a long illness borne with dignity. Rosary and prayers at his home on Tuesday night May 28th.were followed by the removal of his remains on Wednesday night from O'Reilly's Funeral Home ,Newmarket ,to Saint Michael's Church Freemount. His funeral took place on Thursday after concelebrated Mass to Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Kanturk.
We extend the sympathy of the parish to his Wife Noreen, Sons John, and Kieran, Brothers, Sisters,Relatives and extended family and friends. May his brave Soul rest in peace.

Art & Drama Summer Camp
An Art and Drama Summer camp will take place in Cois Alla Freemount from the 22nd to the 26th of July. The camp runs from 10am to 1pm daily. All the art activities are designed by Bríd Moynahan, a practising artist whilst Mike Guerin, a drama teacher, writer, director and actor leads the games and drama. The camp costs €70 per child, bookings can made by contacting 0874124741 or through 'Mike Guerin Drama' on Facebook. We maintain a low pupil/teacher ratio so book early to avoid disappointment.
Féile na nÓg Hurling
This year the All Ireland Féile na nÓg Hurling for U14 Players comes to Cork & North Kerry. St Marks have the honour of being a host club to Longford Slashers, who represent Co. Longford. The programme of events for our U14 hurlers is as follows;
Friday night, June 7th at 5.30- we play Carlow in Freemount GAA grounds. Friday night, June 7th at 7pm- we play Croke Rovers in Freemount. Saturday morning, June 8th at 10am- we play Longford Slashers in Meelin GAA pitch. Then, depending on where we come in our group of 4 teams, we head for the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence near Farranfore for the All Ireland Quarter Finals at 2pm.
When this is all over, we are taking our players & the Longford lads to see Cork play Waterford in the Munster Senior Hurling championship at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, 7pm, in what should be a cracker of an outing. If we win the quarter finals in Kerry, Sunday will see us in an All Ireland semi Final in Kilworth at 12md.
This is sure to be a most exciting weekend of hurling, which only comes to Cork around every 15 years. Everyone is welcome to the matches.

UNDER 12 HURLING-St Marks under 12 hurlers defeated Milford in a very exciting under 12 hurling final in Dromina on a score of 6.6 to 6.3. The under 12 players had put up a great display against Sliabh Luachra Gaels in the under 12 football final and were very disappointed to lose so they were thrilled to come out on top in the hurling. The team was : L. Heffernan, J Kelly, J McBride, R. Burns, A Carroll, D. Withers, C. Collins, J. Dineen, H. Huxley, E. Collins, S. McCarthy, M. Dunstan (capt), J. Brennan. Subs : M. McAuliffe, J. UNDER 14 FOOTBALL-St. Peters defeated Dromtarriffe in the under 14 football final in Boherbue on Sunday last. Having played against the breeze in the first half, St. Peters were only one point in arrears and proceeded to win on a score of 4.15 to 3.7. The team was : M. Dunstan, E. Geary, L Collins, D O' Callaghan, J. Collins, J. Walsh, J. Twomey(capt), N. Stack, D. Linehan, D. McCarthy, A. Curtin, S. O' Connor, E. Murphy. Subs: A. Carroll, D. Duggan.
FEILE NA NGAEL: St. Marks under 14 hurlers welcome Longford Slashers this weekend for Feile na nGael. St. Marks will play 2 matches in Freemount on this Friday night at 5. 30 and 7 and the final group match will be played on Saturday morning at 10 in Meelin. Please come and support our boys.
Our end of year party will take on June 8th. Dinner will take place in Bob's Kanturk. Please contact us if interested.
Our members attended a make up masterclass in Meelin hall on May 23rd at 7.30pm. All funds raised will be donated to Nurture Africa.
Our AGM will take place on June 9th in Freemount Heritage Centre at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend.

IHC Draws: Last week the IHC draws were made and we now know who we face. Meelin will face Ballymartle in the 3rd round. All club games are hoping to start on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Keep posted for the confirmed time and date in the coming weeks.
