Castlemagner: Tidy Town. Castlemagner Tidy Town volunteers will be out for a litter pick, weed picking and other gardening jobs every Tuesday night from 7.30pm. Meeting outside hall before jobs are delegated-so bring litter pickers and any gardening equipment you may have.
There will also be an end of season litter pick and general tidy of village and surrounding areas held on Saturday Sept 28th from 10am, meeting at the hall followed by refreshments in the hall.. many hands make light work so the more the merrier. Please support.
Sewing classes will be held in Castlemagner hall for 5 weeks from Oct 3rd-for further information please email Magda on firstname.lastname@example.org.

ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH
Holy Hour on Monday night at 7pm. As Fr. Peter O'Farrell P.P.will be on holidays from Monday September 2nd. To September 20th ,there will be only one Sunday Mass in the parish as follows:- Sunday September 8th. In Milford only at 10am.Sunday September 15th.in Freemount only also at 10am. (Please note change of times ).Usual weekend Masses will resume on weekend September 22nd. The weekly Holy Hour will continue on Monday nights at 7pm. As usual.

Healthy Cooking Skills for Parents Training course funded through the Safefood Ireland Community Food Initiative 2019 2021. This course will focus on cooking on a budget, preparation of healthy meals considering time constraints, Healthy eating will be explored and a variety of recipes will be delivered. This will be an eight week course from 10a.m. to 12noon. and will commence on Wednesday the 25th of September in the James O' Keeffe Institute, Newmarket. IRD Duhallow is seeking to determine interest in running a QQI level 5 Care Skills Module. The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to care for clients in a safe and hygienic environment. This module is designed to enable the learner to develop skills, gain knowledge and attitudes necessary to work with children who have additional needs. It aims to provide the learner with an understanding of the context of special needs, associated issues and approaches used as well as offering an overview of the legislation and policy development relating to children with additional needs in Ireland today. It is anticipated that this course will commence on Monday the 30th of September and will run for one night per week for ten weeks from 6.30p.m. to 9.30p.m. If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please contact Mary on 029 60633.

Hurling For Hospice
Parents of St Mark's ( Freemount, Meelin & Rockchapel) juvenile club in north Cork are hosting their annual charity hurling morning on Saturday September 7. It is being held in conjunction with Ireland's Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice.
Last year's event raised €2,510 for what is the main annual national fundraiser for hospice care nationwide and they are hoping to raise as much if not more than that this year.
At least seven north Cork teams will take part in the event, which will be held at Meelin GAA grounds, from 9.45 am to 1.30pm. St Marks U6 to U12 will be up against some of North Corks finest clubs, and they include Newmarket, Kanturk, Croke Rovers, Milford, Granard Gaels and Millstreet.
All Proceeds from this year's event will be going to Marymount Hospice, Cork
It will start with an opening parade with the U6s and U8s accompanied by the Newmarket Pipe Band.
This will be followed at 10 am by an U6s and U8s hurling blitz.
U10s will play from 11.45 am and the U12s will play from 12.45.
All are welcome and food and refreshments will be provided.
The regional round of Bowling will take place on Friday the 13th September in the Planet, Blackpool. If you would like to join us, please let us know. All welcome. On the 7th September, club members will be travelling to Lisdoonvarna for the night. All welcome to come along for a great night of dancing and music. Other upcoming regional competitions include -Beef and Sheep stock judging will take place on the 15th September. Also Question time will be taking place on the 20th September. Anyone who would like to take part in any of these competitions, please get in touch. IHC Championship Quarter Final: Our IHC Quarter Final vs Cloughduv is now fixed for Saturday September 14th at 3 pm. Please come and support the boys on the next step in the journey.

Minors play Croke Rovers in Meelin tonight Thursday at 6.45 pm with 2 games left. win could place us in the final. Our u12's also play Buttevant tonight in Freemount. Best of luck to all involved and keep up the good work.
