Healthy Cooking Skills for Parents Training course funded through the Safefood Ireland Community Food Initiative 2019 2021. This course will focus on cooking on a budget, preparation of healthy meals considering time constraints, Healthy eating will be explored and a variety of recipes will be delivered. This will be an eight week course from 10a.m. to 12noon. and will commence on Wednesday the 25th of September in the James O' Keeffe Institute, Newmarket. The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to care for clients in a safe and hygienic environment. This year the Comhaltas weekly Seisiún began on Wednesday July 17th. And will run each Wednesday night until Wednesday August 28th. As usual we have a big line up of music ,singing ,dancing ,storytelling and craic. We have a special guest every night. Our guests on Wednesday night next August 14th.will be Billy O'Brien, John Murphy, Nora Kennedy, Paddy McAuliffe and friends. The Thursday Club members had a most enjoyable outing on Thursday last to Galway, Salthill and Connemara. The next outing will be on Thursday August 15th. On the 1st August, all roads lead to Thurles to support our very own Ciara O'Sullivan in the International Miss Macra Competition. Ciara will take to the stage to represent both Freemount and Avondhu Macra for the weekend. We wish her the very best of luck for the weekend and we know she will do the club and region proud!
