Boherbue: Market - This Sunday, December 2, is Christmas market day in the Pearse Memorial Hall from 2pm to 5pm.
This annual event which is always a big attraction will have over 20 stalls displaying a wide range of products mostly from small businesses who specialise in arts and crafts, soaps and skincare, jewellery, home brew, baking in all shapes and sizes, in fact everything required for a Christmas gift will be on display.
An addition this year will be Santa, kindly sponsored by the local SuperValu. Refreshments will also be available along with raffles and prizes galore. There will be a photographer present if you wish to engage. Admission is free so go along and soak up the atmosphere and aroma. A great and enjoyable afternoon guaranteed.
Please note that the annual blessing of the Crib in the square plus the turning on of the Christmas lights takes place on Saturday, December 8, at 8.15 p.m. (after the 7.30 vigil Mass). This year the recently retired national school principal Mr Gerard Lenihan will be on hand to perform the light ceremony. Entertainment will be provided by children from Boherbue National School plus the church choir. Afterwards, everyone is invited to the hall to parktake in some 'special' Christmas cheer plus light refreshments will also be served.
The annual Mass in Kilmeen Cemetery postponed on Saturday last takes place on this Saturday, December 1, at 2 p.m.

Boherbue ICA host a Christmas floral demonstration by Sliabh Luachra Garden Centre in the Pearse Memorial Hall on Monday, December 10, at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome - admission €5. Arrangements will then be raffled.

St Joseph's Church, Lismire
Monthly Mass in honour of St Pio in St Joseph's Church, Lismire on Wednesday December 5th., at 8 p m. Everyone Welcome.
The Munster final of Plearaca na nOg will be held in Freemount Community Centre on this Sunday December 2nd.starting at 1.30pm. There are four groups taking part Newport, Freemount, Templeglantine, and Baile Nuas. Each group will perform non stop for 30min. Approx. This promises to be a most enjoyable day's entertainment . Freemount group won The All Ireland competition last year. Come along on Sunday for a great day's entertainment starting at 1.30.pm.
Freemount National School
On Thursday, December 6th, Freemount National School will hold their Christmas concert in Freemount Community Centre. The concert begins at 7.15pm sharp, and will be a festive mix of drama, song and dance. All Welcome.

With Christmas just around the corner it's time once again for the Cullen and District Special Needs Association annual Mass and Party which takes place in the local community centre on Saturday, December 1. This is their 38 th anniversary which is a tribute in itself to the hard-working committee, though small in numbers, who do tremendous work in this very special area. Three Counties 4k
The Duhallow AC Three Counties 4k moves this weekend to Mountcollins with again a 1 p.m. start. Registration commences at midday and all are invited. Local club Glasha Fitness and Mountcollins AFC will benefit from the event. Entry is adults €10, primary school children €5 or a family fee of €20 for four.

Knocknagree lady footballers, management and supporters are all off to the Killarney Avenue Hotel on the Saturday night to celebrate another successful year. No doubt, the style and atmosphere will be electric at what promises to be a wonderful night of celebration.
