Boherbue - Parade: With St Patrick's Day just over one week away, preparations are now being finalised for the annual parade which takes place after the 11 a.m. Mass. Prior to Mass, shamrock will be available free of charge at the church entrance.
The parade will again be led by the Cullen Pipe Band, to whom the organising committee are extremely grateful. St Patrick himself, grand marshal and flag bearers. Vintage cars and tractors will follow along with all the various clubs and businesses in the area.
Afterwards, everyone is invited to the hall for some light refreshments and entertainment. Another colourful occasion assured.

Congratulations to the local Comprehensive School senior football team who have reached the all-Ireland final which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 23.

The local Pearse Memorial Hall committee are holding a fundraising fashion show on Thursday, March 14, commencing at 7.30 p.m. in the hall.
The evening commences with a cheese and wine reception at 7 p.m. and tickets costing €10 each are available at the post office.
All welcome - your support will be appreciated - the parish hall is such an important part of social life in the area and deserving of your help in any way.
On this Thursday, March 7, Eileen Kiely from the Millstreet Gramophone circle will be the presenter in the Music Room in the hall at 8 p.m. start. This is Eileen's first presentation in Boher and the organisers eagerly await her musical choices. Everyone welcome and new presenters are kindly greeted.
Tidy Towns AGM
The Boherbue Tidy Towns committee annual general meeting takes place in the hall on Monday night, March 11, at 8 p.m.
This meeting will review the activities of the past year and discuss plans for the year ahead.
The committee welcome new members on board - their work over the past year is notable and they are to be complimented on the progress made.

This weekend Carmel plays in the under-14 singles all-Ireland 40x20 finals along with Darragh Ducey, who partnered Donal Jones, Liscarroll will contest the under-17 doubles. We wish them the best of luck.

Weekend of Praise Worship and Healing
Following on from the hugely successful Healing Conference at Charleville Mir Ministries are now organising a further event at the Rochestown Park Hotel, Douglas, Cork scheduled for March the 9th and 10th 2018. The keynote speaker at this year's event is Maria Vadia.
Maria born in Havana, Cuba, but now residing in Miami, Florida is active in the "Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement". She has travelled extensively bringing a message of Love, Faith, Salvation and Healing to so many parts of the world. She has also authored a number of books that have been an inspiration so many.
Maria, works closely with and has the full support of her Archbishop Most Reverend Thomas Wenski who has offered the following testimony on her behalf and I quote "Maria Vadia is a practicing Roman Catholic who has lived an upright life consistent with the moral teachings of the Church and furthermore nothing is known in her writings or presentations on the faith which conflict with the magisterial teaching of the Roman Catholic Church".
A spokesperson for Mir Ministries, who are organising the weekend, spoke of the signs and wonders at last year's conference and invites everyone along to receive a special impartation from this truly humble servant of God. Maria has promised personal prophetic ministry for everyone and she will be joined among others by Canon Michael Fitzgerald, Fr. John Keane and Fr Tony Emeka MHM Nigeria. Holy Mass and confessions on both days. We promise you a blessed weekend which is free of charge.

COUNTY FLEADH CHEOIL-This year The County Fleadh Cheoil will be held in Dunmanway on April 26, 27 and 28. Please note change of date. Members and parents are reminded that all entries for The Fleadh must be handed into the Comhaltas rúnaí,with entry fees before our meeting on March 7.
The same closing date applies to dancing entries. The dancing competition will take place in Dunmanway on Monday May 6th. ( bank holiday)

On this Saturday, March 9, Gneevguilla Athletic Club present the 4k Rathmore to Rathmore road race. Starting time is 11.30 a.m. with entries from 10 a.m. at the starting line at the entrane to Claren Wood Estate.
The race will travel via the Bog Road, Mill Cross and Main Road to the finish and prizegiving ceremony at the Bridge Bar. Entry fee is: adults €10, students €5, with categories for men, ladies, seniors, masters, juniors, under-23, 16, 14 and 12. Refreshments afterwards at the Bridge Bar.
