Well done to the Bweeng Celtic Under 10s who had two great games against Mallow Utd this weekend
Well done to the Bweeng Celtic Under 10s who had two great games against Mallow Utd this weekend

Glen Theatre - On Saturday November 25, Eleanor Shanley is in concert. This night coincides with the first night the Glen Theatre opened 21 years ago in 1996 with the Duhallow Choir. Booking 087 7558752.

Eleanor's career has spanned over 20 years, and she still possesses a voice as pure and lyrical as the first day she stepped in front of a microphone with De Danann in 1990. Renowned for her unique interpretation of Irish and Roots songs, Eleanor Shanley has been at the top of her profession since her first appearance with De Danann. She recorded two critically acclaimed albums with them 'A Jacket of Batteries' and 'Half Set in Harlem'. While a member of De Danann she also toured Europe, Australia, China, Japan and the USA as well as taking part in several tours of Ireland.

Eleanor has worked with many great musicians through the years and recorded with everyone from Ronnie Drew, De Danann, The Dubliners, Sharon Shannon, Donal Lunny, to U2 and too many more both at home& internationally to mention here. Eleanor was honoured as The Leitrim Person of the Year Award, a title she is very proud.

One doesn't have to search for long to discover the depth of how far this lady has travelled with her music both as a solo artist, and in collaboration with others or to see for yourself body of recorded music Eleanor has been involved with to date in her career. "Forever Young" is her 14th album.

We regret but effective immediately DOGS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED in any part of the Sportsfield and Park complex. This is to ensure the safety of all users of the facility and particularly children.

As you know we have had many issues with dogs in the Park /Sportsfield area over the past while, including a recent serious attack on a user of the facility. The Committee have sought advice from the our legal advisers, insurance company, Gardaí and Cork County Council Dog control unit re what further actions were needed to ensure the safety of all users of this community facility.

The decision to ban dogs was not taken lightly and we ask all users to respect and adhere to the decision. New signs are ordered and will be erected/changed over the coming week but in the meantime we ask that users adhere to the rule change and also please pass the information on to other users.
