Mushera Platform Committee are holding a Big Thank You Dance on Friday night Sept 6th at the back of The Laine Bar Ballinagree. It will be a free night as a thank you to all the supporters who supported the Platform during the season, Its also a 60th Birthday Bash for a very special Man. Fundraiser In Laine
The marathon Coffee and Tea Day in The Laine Bar held by Aghinagh Parish for Baby Kitty O Leary on last Saturday August 31th was a huge success, with people from all surrounding Parishes supporting, lovely cakes and sandwiches was served all day by Helen and a team of ladies all day. The ticket draw took place around 9pm there was so many Spots that the committee decided to make small hampers out of them. When the proceeds were counted it made a massive 18,800 euro with more coming in. Aghinagh Community take a bow. Kitty is doing very well Thank God, she is still in Kings Hospital London.

Congratulations to our all-Ireland medal winner from Lamanaugh. Luke Murphy, son of Jack and Anne and brother of Edel and Seán, who was a member of the victorious Cork minor football squad that defeated Galway in Croke Park on Sunday last.
Wearing number 20, Luke made his entrance early in the second half and justified his inclusion by getting involved from the word 'go' before kicking over the equalising point in normal time.
In extra time the game turned almost completely in Cork's favour before they ran out clear winners at the end.

The new times for the Boherbue Traditional Indian Yoga Centre at the East End are as follows: Monday to Friday: early morning session 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Morning session 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. Evening session 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Also on Mondays 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. there is a kids yoga session, age group six years and upwards. It was with deep regret that the organisers of this event heard of the passing of Michael Healy RIP, and as a mark of respect they postponed this Fun Day. It is rescheduled for this Sunday Sept 8. It will take place in the Clondrohid Community Hall area from 12pm to 4pm. Stalls still available. Events will include a 5km fun run/walk/jog. Live Music, Bouncing Castle, Family Fun Ball Run, Stalls, Ice Cream Van, Fast Food, Raffle ,Childrens Activities including Face Painting, Rinka, Magic, Balloons and much much more. Fun Run registration at 11.30am. €10 per adult. All proceeds divided equally between Clondrohid Community Hall and Clondrohid Parents Association. The annual Fun/Run/Walk in aid of Macroom and Millstreet Hospitals will take place on this Saturday Sept 7. Registration at 2.30 Entry €10 per adult, €5 for under 18s and €20 for a family. Race commencing at 3.30.Later there will be refreshments and music in the pub. A very hard working committee deserve your support and as usual the craic is always good.
The Annual Millstreet Vintage Tractor Run in aid of CART, will take place on Sunday Sept 15. Registration at 10am.in Carriganima. A great day assured, come along for the chat and refreshments and support this fundraiser. This bus is a great asset in any community. On Friday Sept 20, the Big Man is on his way to Carriganima again, the one and only TR Dallas. On Saturday Sept 21, Back on Track will be playing in the pub.
A beginners course on the use of Iphone /Smart phones will be held in the James O Keeffe Institute Newmarket commencing Wednesday Sept 11 from 10am to 12 noon one session per week for 5 weeks. The Foróige Youth Club in Newmarket will resume on Thursday, September 19, from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Cullen GAA were again celebrating all-Ireland success this weekend with the Cork minor footballers victory over Galway in Croke Park on Sunday last. Luke Murphy played no small role when introduced in the second half, kicking over the equalising point in normal time. Former club goalkeeper Billy O'Connor was a selector with the team.
Last weekend it was the young dancers and musicians that took the limelight. Congratulations to all involved.
Set dancing classes have again resumed at the Old Schoolhouse in Foyle with beginners on Wednesdays and advanced on Thursdays both 8 p.m. Everyone welcome.
