Opening of the Playground
Ballinagree Community Developement Group invite all to the opening of the Playground and Walkway next Sunday afternoon at 2pm Family Fun Day with BBQ bouncing castles and lots of childrens activies.
Mushera Platform was held at the back of the Laine Bar last Sunday afternoon a great evening of dancing to a huge crowd. It poured outside but so what the crowd enjoyed the Music Singing and Wit of the Jarvey. The next Platform Dance will be held again at the back of the Laine on Friday night September 6th twill be a very special night, it will be the last dance of the season so everyones invited the music will be by Dermot and Irene Ring.from 8pm to 10 pm.

Padre Pio Ceremonies
The annual Padre Pio Ceremonies, commemorating his ordination, will take place on Sunday, August 11, at 2.30 p.m. in the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, Dennehy's Cross, Cork. The main concelebrant will be Canon Michael Fitzgerald. It will commence with the Rosary, followed by concelebrated Mass, Anointing the sick and Benediction. Fáilte is fiche roimh cách.
Children's arts and crafts
Children from six to 12 are invited to an arts and crafts session in Macroom Library on Tuesday, August 13, and on August 20 from 10.30 a.m. to midday Samantha Morton will read a story at first and then will lead an art and craft session based on the story. Places must be booked by ringing 42483.
Gearagh 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Gearagh 5K Fun Run Walk will leave Kilmichael GAA Grounds on this Friday, August 9, at 7.30 p.m. Registration from 6.15 p.m. onwards.

This group would like to thank all those who are helping to keep the village looking so well, and they encourage all and sundry to keep up the good work. A special word of thanks to those who have a special allotted area. All areas are in full flower bloom at moment and are a credit to you. All this work is voluntary so well done.

Community fun day
In association with IRD Clondrohid will host a Day of the Region on Sunday Sept 1 at 12 noon in the area of Clondrohid Community Hall. Events will include a 5km Fun/Run/Walk. A range of children=92s activities including a Bouncy Castle. Indoor/outdoor market. Live Music, Family Fun Ball Run. Refreshments. Daly=92s Chipper. Summer Art and Craft Camp
Felicity Kelleher will be holding a 4 day Summer Art and Craft Camp in Clondrohid Community Hall for ages 6 up in August. It will run from August 19 to 23 (no camp Wednesday). She will be doing a variety of arts and crafts using clay and other mediums. It will be run in a fun and creative atmosphere giving them great ideas on crafts that could be made at home. The camp will be starting at 11am until 3pm each day. There is only a limited number of spaces available so if you are interested in sending your child contact Felicity on 087-6361893 or 026-44088
Iphone /Smartphones courses
A beginners course on the use of Iphone /Smartphones will be held in the James O Keeffe Institute Newmarket commencing Wednesday Sept 11 from 10am to 12 noon one session per week for 5 weeks. U14 CHAMPIONSHIP: Clondrohid played a highly favoured Castletownbere team last week and lost by just the bare minimum 1point. Well done everyone U12=91S Clondrohid=91s last league game was also V Castletownbere. Some great football played in a high scoring match, but unfortunately Clondrohid lost on a score line of 5-07 to 5-03. Well done all and thanks to Garda Community bus for the transport.

SPORTS DAY ON SUNDAY - On this Sunday, August 11, the club will hold its 29th annual Open Sports Day at the GAA grounds, Liscarroll. Weather permitting, a great day of sport is assured, with events for almost every age group from Tiny Tots up to Masters o-40.
Children will be able to enjoy sprints and middle distance races, turbo javelin, long jump and shot put. Older athletes will have similar plus 28-lb weight throwing and of course no sports day would be complete without relays which are all mixed with boys and girls on each team. As usual in Liscarroll there is no extra charge for relays. We look forward to meeting you all there, to enjoy the fun.
WELCOME HOME - There was a great turn out in Churchtown on Monday last to welcome home our high jumper Aoife O'Sullivan from the European Youth Olympics at Baku, Azerbaijan. She was accompanied by her parents Martin (her coach) and Siobhán, along with her grandfather. On behalf of the club we thank the club members and their parents who turned up, the organisers Brian and Fiona, Willie, Churchtown road runners and the churchtown people who turned up at the community centre.
Again we thank Aoife and Martin (coach) for keeping us interested in track and field athletics to the end of July.
SYMPATHY - The sympathy of the officers and members of Liscarroll Athletic Club is extended to Liam Fitzpatrick, son Liam, daughter Sinéad, Rockspring, Liscarroll on the death of Liam's wife Mary recently. Sympathy is also extended to the families, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
AOIFE DOES IT AGAIN - Just back from Bacu, Aoife O'Sullivan was back in action at Santry Stadium, Dublin last Saturday, competing for Ireland in the Athletics Nations Cup where she again won the high jump competition for Ireland at a height of 1.73m. This is her final jump competition for 2019, jumping 16 in all and winning 11 gold medals.
ROAD RACES - The annual Tom Fitzpatrick Memorial Road Races will be held on Friday night, August 16. There will be a 5km race at 7 p.m. with prizes for first three men and first three women home.
At 7.30 p.m. the seven mile race will commence. There are prizes for the first four men and first four women home, plus category prizes for first man and woman o-40, 45, 50, 55 etc. Entries will be taken at the School from 5 p.m. onwards.
