Annual Sunday's Well Mass in Banteer
The annual Mass at Sunday's Well close to Banteer takes place on Thursday, June 20 at 8pm.
Situated at an elevated and picturesque setting over the river Lacklown, Sunday's Well is the location of the religious history of Banteer parish going back hundreds of years with a Mass Rock in close proximity.
The tranquil well remains a place to be visited for locals and, thanks to the support of a restoration group - land owner John Joe McSweeney, IRD Duhallow, Banteer Macra and others - it has allowed public devotion to take place in recent years. The annual Mass, renewed in recent years, has quickly become a warm social event also.
