The magic of the Dawn Chorus at Longueville House

Bill Browne

Nature lovers have been invited to 'take a walk on the wild side' this coming Sunday (May 12) to greet the magnificent 'Dawn Chorus' on the stately grounds of Mallow's Longueville House.

Prior to the walk, which will commence at 4am, participants will be given a brief orientation and maps will be distributed in relation to various sites spread across the estate.

Visitors to the magnificent 500-acre estate will then be guided through the sights and sounds of perhaps one of natures most thrilling and fascinating spectacles under the expert guidance of ornithologist Michael Cobley.

Following the walk participants will have the chance to clean up and relax over a hearty country house breakfast. Afterwards Michael will host a question and answer session in the luxurious surroundings of the drawing room over breakfast.

Participants are advised to wear warm outdoor clothing with hiking boots or wellies and bring binoculars.

The cost will €55 per person and advance booking is essential. For more information t and to book places visit www.longuevillehouse.ie.
