Members of the Fermoy Camera Club rounded off 2017 with a trip to Mocollop, Ballyduff, on December 30 to, in the words of club PRO Helen Arnold, "take a few photos and clear away the festive cobwebs."

"It was a day to wrap up well and don the waterproofs with scenic bridges, streams waterfalls and moss covered trees offering plenty of opportunities to take some great photographs," said Helen.

"Lots of fun was had on the day and at the customary refreshment spot on the way home. Thanks to Marie Corbett for organising the trip."

The next outing will be a macro workshop on January 13, with full details available at the first club meeting of 2018, which will take place next Tuesday evening at 8pm in the Fermoy Youth Centre.

"The theme of the January challenge will be 'Winter on the Street'. Entries to be emailed by Friday, January 19 and mounted prints will be judged on January 23," said Helen.

"What a great way to start the New Year by challenging yourself to go out and take a shot for this seasonal competition," she added.

All new members are welcome to join the club.
