Cream rises to the top in Duhallow scór finals

EXCITING cultural talent emerged from the Kanturk Credit Union sponsored Duhallow Scór Sinsear Finals hosted at Kilbrin Club last Saturday night.

Competing clubs from Boherbue, Freemount, Millstreet and St John's participated in a mixed programme of cultural entertainment. Boherbue sampled a hat trick of outright wins with both Millstreet and St. John's collecting a pair of titles.

Duhallow Cultural Officer Jerry Doody applauded the fare on offer and commended the participating clubs on promoting cultural activity.

The winners were:

Figure Dancing: (1) Boherbue (Amanda O'Sullivan, Louise Fitzgerald, Emma Fitzgerald, Kate Hickey)

Solo Singing: (1) Conor Linehan (Millstreet), (2) Kevin O'Dwyer (Freemount)

Instrumental Music: (1) Boherbue (Eddie Kiely, Tadhg O'Sullivan)

Recitation: (1) John O'Sullivan (St. John's)

Ballad Group: (1) St. John's (Siobhain Buckley, Edel Shine, Kate Kelleher, Donal Moynihan, Linda Ryan

Set Dancing: (1) Boherbue (Amanda O'Sullivan, Emma Fitzgerald, Louise Fitzgerald, Kate Hickey, Eddie Kiely, Daniel Murphy, Timothy Murphy, Michael Buckley)

Leiriú: (1) Millstreet

The Duhallow winners and runners up progress to a county final in Coachford on Sunday, March 9 commencing at 7.30pm.
